Last Minute Gig Makes For a Great Night
It was a very wild day. Around Noon, Ray calls me with a potential gig in Fredericksburg. TONIGHT. I had to scramble and get a sitter for "Little Handsome", thankfully my folx are really awesome with him. Sybir is in Atlanta, pitchin' a book and really enjoyin herself. So, within an hour, we've got a gig.
Here's the rundown:
Just Wanna Play really wants to thank everyone who came out and supported us at Steamers in Fredericksburg tonight. We had no idea this show was going to happen, but Jody from Traffic on the Backbone (sorry if I messed that up) got sick and needed some help. We were offered the gig around noon today and scrambled to make it happen. Ray, Danny, Nick, and Rod did almost four hours of music, including some never-before-done acoustic numbers. It was an absolute blast! Thanks to everyone who stuck around with us, hung out, sang, danced, commented, and partied.
Next up for me personally? Division - August 5th at East Coast Billiards with Envy Insane and Re-Aligned. We're doing a very cool old school cover.
Next up for Just Wanna Play, August 12th - JWP is at JAXX in Springfield, VA. This is a full band gig with drums, guitars, and even some great female singers.
For no notice at all, we had a total blast. Now I get to see Sybir for all of a day before I fly my tired tail to Dallas for the day job. Hope everyone had as great a weekend as I did.
